WTP Horse Bits
Winning Tongue Plate Horse Bits (WTP)
Winning Tongue Plate bits are a unique range of horse bit products designed to help the rider who is training a horse that is either fussy in the mouth or displaying behaviour associated with an uncomfortable tongue when the bit is in use. Some horses object to pressure over the tongue, and so when other bit designs are used which are made to provide a level of relief over the tongue it may not always be the right solution. Some horses use the tongue like a large cushion against the riders rein contact bringing bit pressure on the horses mouth. The horse uses the tongue to protect the bars of the mouth which provides the horse with a level of assurance against any sudden bar pressure which has a higher level of sensitivity acting on the horses jaw line gums which cover the sensitive jaw bone. The issue with these horses is that most bit designs have small links attaching the lozenge or joining the particular bit designs cannons and these links sit over the tongue area creating some discomfort and possible pinching. The Winning tongue plate bit range is designed so that there are no links sitting over the tongue area that might contact with the tongue creating objections from the horse. The WTP normal plate reduces tongue pressure by 85% with the result that the horse accepts the pressure across the tongue happily with the result that the horse becomes more relaxed taking the rein contact more readily. Any adverse behaviour previously experienced before the WTP bits use is reduced or completely extinguished. What is then apparent is the way the horses starts moving more freely through the shoulder, and the hind leg swings through more easily.
Some WTP horse bit designs are ideal for controlling the issue of horses getting their tongue over the bit, as they have a tongue plate that controls the issue of bits causing soft palate displacement and the horse putting the tongue over the bit.
The Winning Tongue Plate bits designs are also used on horses displaying breathing problems during work due to lower oxygen intake issues. Winning Tongue Plate bit designs improve oxygen intake and performance maximised where horses are misplacing the tongue either hanging the bit out of the mouth or putting the tongue above the bit.
Racehorses, Cross country event horses, and endurance horses doing fast work are particularly susceptible to reduced oxygen intake over long distances due to partial or full tongue displacement issues affecting air intake and endurance levels.
